The top seed secured her place in the final with an 11-6, 11-8 11-5 win over King, who is ranked fourth in the world.
David will now meet the winner of all-English semi-final Alison Waters against second seed Laura Massaro in the final.
In the men’s event, top seed Nick Matthew takes on Peter Barker, while James Willstrop faces Saurav Ghousal in the other semi-final.
Meanwhile, Australia have been hit by a second selection controversy of the Games, with Donna Urqhuart, ranked 25 in the world, reportedly engaging a lawyer after being left out in favour of world number 54 Sarah Cardwell.
Matt Karwalski won an appeal with the Court of Arbitration for Sport in order to replace Zac Alexander for the men’s doubles. — AFP
